You just gotta love artificial product segmentation
On one hand, AMD is bad for artificially removing features that’s already manufactured in the hardware, similar to BMW blocking heated seats behind subscription despite the resistors are already physically installed on the car. On the other hand TSME protects CPUs against physical exploits that siphon data from connected memory chips which is unlikely to happen on an average joe unless you are a high-profile target such as a personnel in an intelligence agency
I guess I’m sticking with my 7840HS for a while.
Apparently AMD plans a July update that reinstates TSME on affected CPUs.
So TSME will be available for Framework soon?
I already asked in another thread but got no answer from Framework about the TSME situation ![]()
