Was there no possible way to support more than only 128GB ram?

I’m looking forward to the reviews and benchmarks… if this really is 4060 performance at 120W (which is what a desktop 4060 consumes by itself) then it would make a great device for beneath the TV.

A lot of Mini ITX cases are nowhere near this small, especially if you need to have a dGPU. There are options, but they’re not widely available and have other issues (poor build quality, inadequate cooling, limited GPU support).

LPCAMM2 modules over 64GB (even if you can find them) come at prices that suddenly make NVIDIA high-end kit reasonably priced. We are talking prices where you could buy multiple Framework desktops for the cost of one LPCAMM2. I remember I found a nicely priced workstation laptop this year, with LPCAMM2. Nice dGPU, but only 32GB—but hey, that’s what you have LPCAMM2 modules for. The only place I could find a 128GB one was through their enterprise support in the US, and I think they listed it for over $2,000. That was the moment when I decided this was not the way to more GPU power; upgrading my old ZBook with an original HP part, with the top NVIDIA card for it, would be cheaper—and even cheaper if I look out for a donor on eBay.

Anyway, the biggest openly listed, consumer-accessible LPCAMM2 64GB modules are around $330 currently, and that’s literally about what a 128GB DDR5 SODIMM kit costs.

That’s a chicken and egg problem, not a lot of platforms using it → expensive → not a lot of platforms using it.
