Which is better EndeavourOS or Fedora (both as KDE Plasma)

I am currently using Linux Mint, as this is my first time using Linux in private. I worked with Ubuntu on VMs and hated it. But it is a little familiar, so I chose a Ubuntu distro, plus Mint is said to be the best Linux System for beginners (or at least that’s what I heard).

When installing Linux Mint, I had some problems. The Kernel and the Mint Variant did not like each other, the Kernel was too old. So I want to make sure it does not happen again this time, so I thought about using a dual boot System. That way I could simply move all my files and stuff, without any Problems and had a security net, in case something went wrong.

So the question is, which should I choose, Fedora or EndeavourOS? A friend (friend A) of mine swears on EndeavourOS (he uses it himself), another friend (friend B) swears on Fedora (he uses it himself). Friend B used a clever argument, Fedora is officially supported by Framework, while Arch is marked as risky. So because I am still a Linux beginner, he tries his best to direct me to use Fedora. Friend A, who warned me about Mint from the beginning (I should have listened to him back then) and told me to use EndeavourOS, says EndeavourOS is also pretty beginner friendly. According to him the Arc Community is also really friendly and could help me a lot when problems occur.

So now I don’t know what do to and thought to ask some strangers on the Internet about their opinions and what they would recommend me.

In case it matters, I have an Intel Ultra 5 H CPU, 48GB RAM and 1TB SSD.

Arch based distros do need more “hands on” approach. EOS of course helps that its setup with easy installation but everything after that is pretty much manual work, depending on your uses it might just work for your use case.

Fedora is much more “beginner friendly” in that sense, it generally has sane defaults out of the box where in Arch you usually have to configure things yourself.

I use base Arch + Endeavour repo (mostly for pre-compiled yay) myself. It’s jumping straight into the deep end of the Linux pool, but with hands down the best wiki / guides out there. Pacman is a very complex package manager to learn, but absolutely lets you configure it, fix problems, and trusts you to know what you’re doing. Endeavour’s spin / layer on top of basic Arch makes some things easier (especially at install time), but isn’t guaranteed to be a zero hassle experience either.

Fedora is more install and forget for the most part. I put my elderly neighbor on it and she’s had zero issues. But I have run into cases where Fedora packages ended up in dependency hell. I forget the details as it has been awhile, but that’s what sent me straight back to Arch for my own daily driver.
