I’ve been looking at the chassis and other components for my 16 and they look like they’d polish up quite easily. They’d definitely need stripping right back, even if you bought the spares from the store.
Edit: Looks like the Thixomolded chassis might give an issue depending on the exact magnesium alloy and how thick certain parts are, but still looks possible as long as it is appropriately protected from oxidisation afterwards.
