Yep I hear ya, and I did want to support them, definitely like the philosophy behind it. Mistakes happen, especially for such a new company, but how a company handles mistakes says a lot about them.
I donāt see the price difference reflected, so it was most likely just an error in the pre-built description and you would have still received the original screen when your order shipped outā¦as you did not pay for it.
Did you try asking if they could accommodate you by changing your order over to a DIY and 120hz screen with price adjustment? That should be a reasonable thing for them to do as the mistake caused you to lose your spot in line.

as you did not pay for it
How can you compare the price for a configuration that doesnāt exist? DIY is always more expensive than pre-built for the same specs and options so it doesnāt make sense to compare DIY with 120Hz to pre-built with 60Hz.
As far as I knew at the time, the price that was listed was the price for that display, there was no indication otherwise.
Mistakes happen. Look at the NYSE and Berkshire Hathaway this week.
Withā¦theā¦archive.org link you yourself posted. Price of computer is the same before and after the mistake, which suggests the 120 was never really part of the build.
This is not true at all. DIY is almost always LESS than pre-built because you are building it yourself. But in the case of Framework, Iām pretty sure they charge the same price +/-$10 between the two.
Well, now ya know. You should be happy it was caught and fixed before the āwrongā laptop was charged and shipped out to you.
Framework charges more for DIY, I know it seems odd, but itās because the retail Windows license is more than the OEM one, and they still have to assemble the laptop to test it, and then take it apart for you to put together yourself.
Yeah, about $10 more. Whoop-dee-do.
No intention to deceive sure, but you canāt say there was no change in components. I donāt think it was just a text error, it must have been in the database, which is why the order summary was automatically revised when they changed it. Nobody went in and manually changed the order summary, it just pulls the specs from the sku.
This back-and-forth is not getting anyone anywhere.
The question has been answered and everyone stated their opinion.
This specific error will not be repeated so weāre closing this thread.
