Would a Laptop 12 be worth it for my use case?

No, absolutely not. The processor for lenovo’s calculations isn’t at a constant max load and if it was the ideapad would have a projected battery life of 1.06-1.63 hours. Since the i5 1335u used in the FL12 has an average idle (the workload that you would be using it for would be idle-ish) system power draw of 5.6w in video playback and 3.8w in web surfing. (for the whole system idle according to my calculations), and the average power draw of the Ideapad 5 2 in 1 is 8.9 watts. The math checks out to 8 hours for the Ideapad and a little over 9h for the FL12 in video playback and 13 in websurfing. Again, these are mildly educated guesses from a tired speculator, take these with a bucket of salt.

Impossible to say, but the ram on the Ideapad is soldered (and not much faster than the sodimm compared to other lpddr5) and the processor on the ideapad could be more power hungry, however, the battery on the ideapad would be 12% higher capacity (but not longer lasting). Battery life really depends on what youre doing rather than what a manufacturer says you’re doing. Additionally, the smaller display of the FL12 would probably draw less power than the 17% bigger display of the Ideapad. Bottom line, the Framework likely (my educated guess) have longer battery life than the Ideapad and the Framework would be much more durable than the ideapad considering its individually replaceable keyboard and screen.

Wow, its late. I should go to bed :sob:
