As I have explained earlier in this post, all these “other tools” do not work reliably even for the simplest tasks of assigning key mappings. I wasted a lot of time with these and half of the keys would not map for no particular reason. Second reason is that all these tools allow you to configure 20 utterly useless animation effects and have other bells and whistles, but do not allow you to set even something as simple as static per-key RGB lighting. So as a software engineer, I would much rather patch the firmware source code than waste my time with these buggy software toys.
