I had the idea of making a io expansion board with a raspberry pi chip on it (similar to the guy who did a esp32 expansion board) but quickly realized that that wouldn’t work.

Do you mean the RP2040?
A couple of people seem to be working on RP2040 cards.

I’m continuing RP2040 Microcontroller Expansion Card but instead of reviving an old thread, it would make more sense to create a new thread, I’m going to be continuing this idea, but it will not have a customizable cover but instead, a flash chip to store a program. I will post more information and possibly some images.

Hello, I am working on an expansion card that contains an rp2040 like the raspberry pi pico. I am planning to add a customizable cover for things like ‘dust covers’, led strips, etc. And was wondering if I made a design for this if it will be eligible for a grant. Thank you.
