I noticed that when configuring the framework 12, there was no option for choosing 24gb, only 16 and then 32. could there be any reason why a single 24gb stick wouldn’t work with the framework 12
I think they don’t stock single 24GB SODIMMs. They say it works with up to 48GB so I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t work.
It either hasn’t been tested or they don’t sell these for whatever reason, but it will very likely work if you get one from some other source.
I’ve installed a Corsair 24Gb 5600 on my Framework 12 but with Fedora 43 i launch free -m command and it returns me only 16G available. Am i missing something? Thanks
How much is taken for display buffer?
How much is taken by the OS?
On my FL16 with 96GB memory this is what I get when I do free -m
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 94335 3644 80982 54 10721 90690
Swap: 8191 0 8191
this is the output of free -m
total used free shared buff/cache availableMem: 23744 7781 4908 2497 13632 15963
Swap: 31743 0 31743
You have around 24GB total, are already using 8GB for the GPU, Linux OS and already open applications and thus around 16GB are available for additional applications.
Not sure why this is confusing?
perfect, i was misreading the output.
Thank you!
