Adapter kit for the Framework 16

Call me crazy but I think a “adapter kit” to use a 13 main board in the 16 would be very helpful.
I dont need either the expansion bay shells, the big battery (but I guess if you can get it working it would be nice) or even all the ports; just some brackets and extension cables for two ports of the opposite side, and the USB hub for the keyboard.

They have the same display connector and camera connector.

Offset to the right might make more sense, we can use the empty space for the expansion bay connector for maybe some air to get out.

Keyboard connector is probably the most challenging so far. A USB hub is definitely needed for that, and the framework 13 dont come with a onboard USB connection beside the fingerprint reader and the display connector.

Makes sense! This way DC-ROMA RISC-V mainboards of DeepComputing would fit inside 16 inch laptop!

Agree, however limited it would be, if it has a display, battery and four ports functional, it would be cool to have.

I imagine the 13 would have a pretty hard time with the cooling layout of the 16. also, even if connectors are the same, it wouldn’t be surprising if you needed extended cables to make things secure. I’m pretty supportive of this idea though; I like larger screens a lot more for 13-class workloads
