ArchLinux Setup on Intel Core Ultra

Over the weekend, I set up my new Framework 13 with ArchLinux and wrote down everything in a detailed blog post covering:

  • Bios Update
  • Root Filesystem Encryption
  • Base System Setup
  • XFCE Setup on Xorg with fractional UI scaling (for the high DPI display)
  • Handling external displays
  • Automatic Login
  • Energy Management
  • Bluetooth

You can read it all here:

Interesting to see different choices!

I have a different way to avoid having to type 2 passwords. Instead of having to enter the encryption password and skipping the login by using autologin, I use Secure Boot and unlock the disk using TPM (so I don’t have to type that) and do use a password to login.

Just wanted to mention that is an option too.

I’ve set the fingerprint sensor to unlock after locking the session because of idling. I’ve disabled it for login because it won’t unlock the keyring.
