Honestly I do have a lot of understanding for Framework. The laptop industry must be insanely diffcult to do business in and my hunch is that holding lots of stock just isnt an option for Framework. Therefore, with this preorder business, they’re susceptible to supply chain / production delays.
I am a huge fan of the old Thinkpads (x200, x220 etc) that were maintainable. Having also owned a modern Thinkpad and a FW13, I prefer having that servicability. So I can take the delays it on the chin.
But I wish going forward they can build in more of a buffer because people make plans around those dates.

One of the things I think Framework could do better is being less optimistic about their shipping dates. Give a long estimate so that delays are less likely to break deadlines, and it makes buyers happier when their product is delivered before estimated.
Transparency and more detail in the process might also be interesting, so people can understand exactly what went wrong and see the steps taken to address them; for example with this delay, it’d be nice if we knew which SKU is delayed and to learn and get insight into the supply chain process.
I’m disappointed that shipping is delayed, but I understand that Framework is a small company, and I appreciate that they take accountability for their mistakes and are transparent about them.

This is good feedback! Our initial target was “Q3” for certain batches but we have tried to give a more accurate estimation (since A LOT of people were asking if we were going to ship in August or September before we updated the estimate on the website, especially the college students).
Also, I just got charged the remaining amount :).
So Im expecting some shipping updates next week.
I guess I can wait for another week or so. Super stoked!

I have receive my Laptop 13 with 3 day of advance <3
Some info for you. After installing Windows 11, I have try installing the framework driver. I have download them from the official website on an usb key using an Kubuntu OS. But when I put the exe and try to install pilots on the laptop 13 it doesn’t want to work. The only solution wich have worked is to connect my mobile phone to the laptop 13 and share connection to download the driver directly on the laptop 13 from Framwork website. And it worked. So be careful.
I didn’t have any other issue. I work so well (easy when we see my previous laptop)
