Batch 4 preparation email received today with 4-21 days to shipment… fingers crossed it’s closer to the 4 days
I’ve received my Framework, 26 Sep 2024
I was never given a shipping notification or a tracking number, and the “Orders” section on the Framework website shows it still as “Pre-Order Confirmed”.
Fortunately this has caused no problems for me, and the machine assembled fine and boots to EFI setup, but I can imagine a lack of tracking/notification for some would be un-ideal, so I’m just reporting my findings.
Which specs did you order?

DIY Ryzen 7 7840U, 2.8k display, black bezel, International English Linux keyboard, 3xUSB-C, 2xUSB-A, 1xDP, 1xHDMI, 1xEthernet.
I did not order any SSD or RAM, just the barebones system.
I did just get my email at about 01:10 this morning, with a tracking link showing the package had already been delivered. Seems the label was generated early on Sep 24th (when I got the charge notification) and was picked up later that day.
Loving the laptop so far! It’s been one of the easiest archlinux laptop installs I’ve ever done.

Mine arrived around 12pm today and had been on quite the journey!
Happy with it so far. Surprisingly not bad WiFi performance from the standard module. It might stay, even though I have a new Intel module still in its box.
No dead pixels (2.8k screen).
No obvious chassis gaps.
Some questionable cable routing on the right hand side at the hinge area. I’m going to keep an eye on that.

The WiFi module apparently loves 2.4GHz and needed some Windows device manager settings adjustment to persuade it to go for 5GHz as a preference. It does not report the correct link speeds to Windows. Instead it insists it is always connected at the full ~2Gbps up and down at all times. That’s only a minor annoyance, but it’s an annoyance I can easily avoid by fitting the Intel WiFi6E module instead, which I’ll do tomorrow.
Last thing…
It took me a few minutes to even remember that the 2.8k screen had rounded corners. It really is a non-issue.

I’m part of the FW13 AMD Batch 3 (which I think is the final order) and my preorder date was September 1. BTW I’m located in Taiwan, where the factory and storage are located, but I still haven’t received my charge notification email as of today.
Just wondering if anyone else in the same batch has received theirs yet, or if anyone knows what’s going on with the shipment?
I’m in batch 6 for the Framework 13 AMD and got my preparation email on the 25th with 4-21 days to shipment from then… placed my order on the 23rd. I hope it’s a sign of them catching up on stuff and not a system error…
I placed my order on the 31st of August. I was allocated to batch 3.
Specs are: DIY, 7640U, 2.8k display, 61Wh battery, no RAM, no SSD, international Linux keyboard.
I received the “Update on your Framework Laptop 13 pre-order - Batch 3” email on 5th September.
Status is still pre-order confirmed. No request for payment or any follow up information since. I’m in Australia.
All of that (even down to the date) is the exact same for me, but I chose US English keyboard and I’m in the US.
Batch 3 on September 1, that means I really am at the front of Batch 4. I placed my order the next day (USA, so less than 48 hours later).
Batch 6? Batch 4 hasn’t even shipped yet… I think that’s an error… Batch 4 preparation emails went out on the 25th.
Yeah. I suspected as much having been keeping an eye on what others are reporting

Looks like batches 4, 5, and 6 of FW13 AMD w/ the 2.8k display actually all just got charged according to a post on the Framework sub-reddit. That’s exciting!

That’s alarming to say the least. It took a full month to ship Batch 3, so I’m skeptical that all of Batches 4-6 can be shipped in a reasonable timeframe to justify charging everyone at once. Now I have to wonder if an automated process got too far ahead of itself.
