My fan has been making horrendous noises, like marbles rattling inside. I followed the instructions posted by @Laurent here Loud fan | excessive CPU throttling | laptop running hot? Clean the fan! , and found this dust bunny living in my fan. Thanks for the dis-assembly tips, it’s all quiet now!

good to know your problem was solved. That’ll be me in a few years.
It wasn’t long after clearing out the dust bunnies that the fan began to rattle again. The bearings were still damaged and loose (from the dust accumulation, or just time, IDK). I replaced the fan with the fan kit from framework and all has been well now for 3 months.
