Caldigit TS3+ not working with FW16 AMD Fedora 41

Just got a Caldigit TS3+ and hooked into my back port via thunderbolt to my FW 16 AMD. The dock doesn’t present ethernet to the laptop, my mouse dongle doesn’t work, and the monitor that’s plugged into it is only at 640p instead of 1440. I’m running Fedora 41. Here’s my dmesg output

Any help would be appreciated.

The rear port is display ONLY. Change to the back left and back right port on either side of the Framework 16 Laptop. Should be a night and day difference.

I do not have the video card module for my Framework 16 though I could see a benefit for putting in large letters or a symbol that it is display ONLY on that port.

A number of people have made this mistake (commonly laptops from a long time ago always had their ports on the back of the machine)

Let us know how it turns out.

Just tried the dock with a FW13 running a Fedora 41 live image and am having the same issue. The monitor only presents itself as 640x480

Just tried with a different monitor and it works. I guess I gotta return these monitors. These are what I was trying to work with

You should try the patch on this bug in case it also affected caldigit.

Also make sure there is not some settings you are missing, and that the cables being used are correct. Also double check the CalDigit details it may require active cables for the displayport connection. In my experience it is more often the dock that is the problem.

Sounds like the monitors are failing to communicate. Especially considering a different monitor works no problem. I’ll try that patch though. Could help.
