So at some point I lost the chassis intrusion switch and my laptop doesn’t want to display despite all green blinks then BBGGGBBG. so if i just solder 1 to 3 and 2 to 4. would that make it so the laptop things the laptop is always closed?

its a secondhand motherboard so theres is no hope in a warranty. its at i5 1240p board if that helps.

laptop worked one day then didn’t work the next day.

I would not solder jumpers across unknown pins until you know which side is signal and which side is ground/VCC. A chassis-intrusion switch is usually just an EC input with a pull-up/pull-down, but shorting the wrong pair can still make the board harder to diagnose. Safer path: check the service guide/parts photos for the exact switch board/cable, verify continuity on the missing switch pads with a meter, and only simulate the same open/closed state that the switch would provide. Also test external display and reseat the display/eDP side before assuming the intrusion switch is the only reason for no display.

ive tried external display with no luck either

Connecting those would do nothing.
The used pins are 1 and 4.
