Hello all,
I have noticed a strange issue while running Fedora; on occasion, when I close the lid and re-open it (such as when I’m traveling around school and carrying my laptop in my bag between classes) I notice that the middle and lower port slots closest to the user on both the left and right side seem to stop working. I noticed this because my Logitech M525 mouse and dongle will not be recognized on either USB-A that I have on in the middle slots on either side, any headphones plugged into the audio jack stop being recognized and appear as if they are not connected to the laptop at all. Flash drives plugged into the USB-A ports do not show any sign of receiving electricity; no lights ever flash. Interestingly, the two power ports closest to the eGPU will at least allow me to charge the computer; I do not know if they will also recognize a USB-C flash drive, since I don’t have one.
This issue persists until I restart the computer completely. Is there some bug either with Fedora’s sleep / lid closing settings that would prevent it from sending power to the ports after being pulled out of sleep settings? I dual boot this laptop between Fedora 41 and Windows 11; when I run Windows, I do not have these same issues, which makes me think it’s a Fedora problem.
I’m using Fedora 41, kernel version 6.11.7-300.fc41.x86_64, BIOS version 3.20, model AMD Ryzen 7040 series.
Thanks for the help!
