Ctrl key stuck?

Hi!

I’m not the most technologically savvy person, so I apologize for any unclear wording!

I’ve had minor issues with the keyboard on my laptop before, all of which have resolved themselves, but my keyboard is currently registering my ctrl key as being pressed when it’s not - it’s interfering with my ability to control volume and brightness and use other commands. I’ve checked and neither ctrl key is physically stuck. Restarting the laptop and troubleshooting the keyboard haven’t changed anything. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Any advice?

Thank you so much!

Is it possible that you need to turn the function lock on? The Ctrl key being stuck would block you from typing many letters. Try hitting the fn + esc keys. That would toggle your F keys (the very top row of the keyboard) between f1 → f12 and things like brightness and volume controls.
