Cursor randomly stuck in lower right corner until reboot

I have come across an issue that I am unsure how to troubleshoot. On occasion, my cursor will be stuck in the lower right corner. This seems to happen upon entering the desktop environment. The only fix is to use an external mouse only or reboot. When it is in this state, the external mouse will move the cursor as normal but when I touch the trackpad, the cursor immediately returns to the lower right…so really the only workaround I have is to reboot.

I know enough to be dangerous in Linux, but not enough to know where to start troubleshooting so any help would be appreciated.

This also happens on my FW12; sometimes opening up the machine and re-seating the input module helps, but usually i have to use a mouse or reboot to use the machine :confused:
