So ive been using my framework 12 fr a while now, a few months and I LOVE it, but recently under KDE neon, AND Debian with GOME, every once and a while (especially under high GPU loads) the screen will just… go black and I need to hold the power button and do a full reboot to fix it temporarily, then it might do it again, its annoying me so much that i just wanted to know if anyone has experienced the same issue and if so, how did you fix it? ive updated the BIOS, im on the latest Debian version with all of my packages up to date. I have no idea whats happening?
I have the same issue in Arch
Good to know that this issue isnt isolated most-likely, if you find a fix please let me know!
likely related to this: SMU deadlock / system freeze on Fedora 43
It has been 3 or so months now, and the laptop is still unstable, it crashes even more often during use, i suspect an iGPU problem, but i’m not sure specifically what. I have tried to change GRUB settings and BIOS settings and many other things, but it is still like this. Does anyone have a solution?
The link you provided appears to be about the framework desktop, the framework desktop uses an AMD chip, and i suspect a problem with intel iGPU linux support for this. I am not sure how much that link apples to the framework 12 (with the upgraded CPU)
