DIY Ryzen 7 7840U not available for sale, only Ryzen 5 7640U

I was looking for the Ryzen 7 7840U for the Laptop 13 AMD 7040 series but it doesn’t seem for sale, only the Ryzen 5 7640U is available when purchasing a brand new laptop

Is there any reason it’s not offered, while it can be bought as a spare part?

I don’t think the AMD AI CPUs are really worth it

I believe they are only stocking 7640 for the legacy chips going forward. 7840 is sold out. You could either buy mobo separately or look at pre owned.

Thanks for your answers

it seemed available

But when added to cart, it displays out of stock, which I did not notice

That’s unfortunate

What country are you in?

I am in the US, and I received no “out of stock” notification when I added the 7840U mainboard to my cart just now. It proceeded all the way to the Payment page; the next button was “Place Order.” It also let me add as many as 9 7840U boards to my cart.

Perhaps try again, or try a different locale?

That’s what I said

when selecting the spare part it works, but when going to cart it shows out of stock

I’m not sure what you mean by “going to cart,” as I never saw an “out of stock” message for the 7840U mainboard during the whole process.

Sorry, I can’t read, I read that you did have this message

I’m in France

The website displays out of stock when the spare part is added here: https://frame.work/en/en/cart
