EFI shell update help

Artix with OpenRC (yes unsupported I am aware)

BIOS ver. 3.03

AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series

Trying to update the BIOS to 3.04 using the USB EFI shell update method, cannot use the machine for more than 5 minutes to make any progress in the OS itself. Tested RAM using memtest and reseated RAM no issues there. This seems the only way to update the BIOS for me. Problem is that when I attempt to run the startup.nsh it pushes out this error string:

Error: Cannot find a EFI system partition!

CapsuleApp: cannot find a valid file system on boot devices. Status = Not Found

Have done this enough times to rule out a USB hardware issue. I know Arch and especially systemd-less arch is officially unsupported but I have been attacking this issue for the better half of the day and cannot come to a solution. If anyone smarter than me would like to chime in and help it would be much appreciated.

Suggestions!

Maybe try removing the SSD and then booting from the USB to do the EFI shell update?

If that doesn’t work, you could maybe try booting from a supported linux distro on a USB stick, you don’t have to install the distro but it would perhaps allow you to try the linux-based EFI updater.
