That is not the one op is asking for, framework put a ina current/voltage sensor on the input that is separate from the one built into the charge controller.

The chg_input_current is the “target” current that the charge controller follows, on the input side before the NVDC buck-boost. This is more accurate than battery charging current and voltage so it must have a sensor. However the user can’t read the measured value (opposed to set value) using conventional means. “so close, yet so far” vibe.

Weird, the new charge controller is only rated up to 40V with 45V absolute max. that is still less than the 48V needed for 240V pd.

We have a TI dual phase buck-boost converter that does not support bypass mode, and operates in NVDC mode always. This helps reduce peak current draw from adapters as it can respond to high current draws on the battery instantly when connected to EPR adapters.
It is proceeded by a 3 level buck converter which is used to step down the input voltage to the battery charger controller when operating at 48V. At 36V and below the 3 level buck converter is switched into bypass mode.
