Fingerprint Sensor goes to sleep after some time

I have noticed when using fprintd for fingerprint authentication, the first usage always takes around 5-10 seconds until the sensor is ready. Subsequent sensor usages are instant for a a short time, then it is slow again. This is especially frustrating when using the fingerprint on lock screen.

I have worked around this by calling “fprintd-list ” regularly in the background, which seems to keep the sensor alive, so the fingerprint authentication is always instant. Has anyone else encountered similar behavior?

Hello!
Yes, i also have this problem.

ChatGPT suggests disabling USB power-saving for the scanner, but I am unsure if that’s the right solution to the problem.

Maybe an updated version of tuned or 6.13 solves the problem in the near future?
