Recently i went to charge my framework and it will not charge and no indicator lights come on.
I read there is a fix involving a soldering iron from framework is there a way around this? Will a new battery work?
For right now, yes, a new ML1220 (note: the rechargeable ML1220, not a non-rechargeable CR1220!) plus a “dumb” USB A->C 5v charger that does not do any fancy power delivery should get you going again. Once you’ve charged it up a little bit with that charger you can switch back to your main charger.
When you remove the existing RTC battery, use a pin or something to lever it out of the socket from the side of the battery closest to the where the touchpad would be; the plastic tabs around the battery are somewhat fragile and might break.
