Hello everyone! Today I have noticed prominent dark brown marks appearing on the exterior rubbery TPU on my Framework Laptop 12 and it is concerning me since I treat this laptop like a baby and I very rarely take it out of my house.
Below is a photo of my Laptop 12 now, I am surprised there are no similar marks on my input cover since this is where my hands are resting most. It is also worth noting that my bottom cover is only about one month old, I got a new one under warranty at the beginning of April due to my previous one cracking; but my previous one never looked this dirty after 5 months of use and I have not changed my habits since.
Here’s a photo I sent Framework Support in late March before they sent me a new bottom cover. You can see the 5 months old bottom cover looks far better than my new bottom cover (apart from the cracking of course.)
I have tried cleaning these marks off with IPA and a microfibre cloth as well as cotton buds/Q-tips but to no avail.
I have many more photos of the top and bottom covers since it isn’t limited to the underside but stretches along the edges on both sides of my laptop, but I can only add two photos to a post!
Does anybody have any ideas of how I could clean these marks off at all? They really bring me down!
