Framework 16 Screen Blanking

Hi, recently I got a framework 16, and for the past month or so its been working great.
Recently, I noticed that when I turn on the computer, if I gently tap/touch the screen while its on the framework logo while booting, the screen turns black (but still turned on), and I can even hear the windows 11 boot noise, so the screen is just turning off for whatever reason.
This only happens when I gently rattle my framework/move it around, or tap the screen gently, and I noticed that if i tap the screen at the windows 11 login screen, it also goes black after a short ammount of time.
The only way ive found to “solve” this is to do a hard power down, do not touch the screen completely, and try to login before the screen turns off by itself.
I have no idea whats causing this, and I dont think its my OS becuase this happens before the OS is even loaded. (further supporting this, if I take out the input modules to get the “no input modules detected” screen, it also happens there, so its most likely not an OS issue)
What could be causing this? How do I fix this? I just got my framework not even a month/less ago, so im not sure what I should do.

  • Which OS (Operating System)?
    Windows

  • Which release of your OS (Operating System / Windows 10, 11)?
    Windows 11

  • Which Framework laptop (11th, 12th or 13th generation Framework laptop, Chromebook or Framework Laptop 16) are you asking for support with?
    Framework 16

I havent tried that, I only tried reseating one internal cable thats on the right side under the modules
Wheres the display cable?

Sorry, I replied mistakenly thinking it was a FW13.
I don’t own a FW16 so I’m not sure where the display cable is.
You could try looking up the Knowledge Base on FW website though.

In case you didn’t find it, here’s the answer:
