We have integrated the latest public version of the AMD graphics driver. However, the chipset driver included is not the public version, as the public version currently on the AMD website does not support the AI Max series. We are currently consulting with AMD regarding their support plan for the AI Max series chipset driver.
Hi @Quin_Chou has there been any progress on your talks with AMD? Should we be running Adrenalin and AMD Software Updater concurrently with the Driver Bundle v1.02 ?
Is there any movement on driver updates via framework? Will there be any future updates for the driver pack?
I have not jet installed current AMD drivers for (APU 26.2.2/Chipset 8.02.18.557), as I am still testing so called OEM drivers from this driver pack. I’m not sure if there is any difference when it comes to framework optimizations vs AMD official drivers. As the current drivers in the driver pack are old and have some crashes/bugs.
Yes, I started to test 26.2.2 & Chipset Driver: 8.02.18.557.
But would I like framework to try to test and update their drivers packes 3 to 4 times a year, so I dont have to test it myself.
And it was looked good until I tried Night Raid, on 3dmarks, that locks up my system for the first time, only sound keeps going, so had to do a manual shutdown.
Some of the other test on 3dmark did work, but futuremark system info scan is still not working good with this driver. I think it not liking the way memory is handeld with ai max 395+
Interesting, have you assigned GPU memory manually, or is it on automatic?
I’m using the computer for media, general computing and some gaming, so haven’t stressed it as much as a benchmark can for sure.
Edit: With Variable Graphics Memory on minimum, I installed 3d Mark v2.32.8853 x64 and ran Night Raid, Time Spy, Solar Bay and Steel Nomad, all tests completed normally & SystemInfo v5.91.1460.0 showed all system information.
Manually via AMD Adrenalin, 50/50 on 128GB mainboard. I can try auto/minimum or/and set in the bios to it’s max of 24gb, test may be reinstalling 3dmarks/pcmark10 & fururemarks system info tool they use, when I got time.
But first I think I’ll just let furmark with hwinfo run for a hour or 2. Yesterday I did noticed that on 26.2.2 that gpu boosts for the first 9 minutes when you start using the gpu, with framework released driver 25.10.2 that behavior is not present. But framework gpu driver is also ~5% to ~20% slower, with some of the testing I have done thus far.
Still hoping that framework releases a newly tested gpu/chipset driver, even if it will be older then the current amd drivers. I will just have to use amd cleaning tool, before install when framework shows some movement on that front.
Apologies for the late response; I missed your message. This driver version is built on the official public release with the addition of the AI MAX ID, so it is fully validated for use.
AMD has now released the public driver supporting AI MAX, which you can download directly from their website. We are also planning an updated Framework driver bundle that will officially incorporate this public version. The latest revision number is 8.02.18.557.
