Can we get this in a form where you can select what you want? Having to downgrade things like my graphics drivers to update something like a fingerprint sensor only to need to update my graphics drivers again is less than ideal.
I had to install the FW driver bundle 2.05 first and reboot, then re-install the AMD adrenaline 25.6.1 with factory reset and reboot and then install AMD chipset 7.06.02.123 and reboot. Quite a process if you want everything cleanly installed.
To your point yes it would be convenient if the FW Bundle installer would prompt with options what to install.
Beta releases such as this are not listed there. Once these drivers are vetted and signed off, that page will be updated and there will be a widespread announcement of the release.
I did the same with this update. I wanted all Framework’s new updates, but AMD’s updated drivers as well. One odd/bad thing I’ve noticed with this new update: The laptop died while playing games. It used to drain the battery down to ~30%, then it would stop draining. Presumably it started limiting the CPU and/or GPU at that point. With this update, it didn’t stop at 30%, and kept going down till it put itself to sleep, at 0%. Rather unfortunate. I can only attribute it to this update, as it’s never done it in the past, and this update is the only thing that has changed for me recently.
I agree.
However, FWIW, I had no trouble just installing the whole of this new bundle 2.05, rebooting, and then reinstalling “amd_chipset_software_7.06.02.123.exe”, rebooting again and reinstalling “amd-software-adrenalin-edition-25.6.3-win10-win11-june-rdna.exe”. However YMMV.
Downlaoded the drivers and tried to install them. It got to 3/14, then my computer blue-screened. No other applications were running. Now it keeps bootlooping, eventually putting me into recovery mode. I can’t get out of this loop, this sucks. Hope I didn’t just brick my laptop by trying to install drivers
driver install script create file which contains some logs %TEMP%\frameworkinstall.txt. Maybe there you will find some more information what was wrong.
The last option is to check event viewer in windows and check if there is any information what is failing
