oh I didn’t mean I’d use my AZERTY’s opaque keycaps onto the backlit QWERTY keyboard, I thought I’d maybe try to use the QWERTY with its own keys shifted around into AZERTY but I realised a significant number of other markings I use often would be out of place so no shot here

Seeing as it’s reprogrammable, I don’t see why you couldn’t swap em? That’s just experience from watching students take apart/put back together their chromebook keyboards though.
even after reshuffling keys from QWERTY to AZERTY, the non-letter and non-number symbols are in wildly different places from where they should be
The new FW12 introduction video mentions that almost everything is backwards compatible, except: “Heatsink is sized only for Intel Core Series 3”.
Does that mean that upgrading our existing FW12 requires the mainboard but also the heatsink (+$20)? Is the one heatsink that is already available on the store the upgraded one for both models?

@catastrophic I have a question for you/the mainboard engineers
I have a 1st gen 12, in which I put a 5600MT/s stick in it; the max supported by 1st gen mainboards is 5200MT/s, the upcoming 2nd gen ones show 6400MT/s as their new max
Do you think possible (since it’s just basic DDR5 after all) for us to get DRAM overclocking capabilities in BIOS? I’d like to try milking this 5600MT/s stick for all I could, I’m sure I could get at least 6000 out of it if not straight up 6400…
Since Wildcat Lake is single channel by design, Intel SKUs are notorious for enjoying performance buffs from faster memory and I don’t want to buy a likely overpriced 16GB stick just because it is 6400MT/s ootb, I’d like to see what could be done to get the best possible performance out of those 6 threads, tiny iGPU & maybe even try using that NPU with some tiny local model (which is definitely going to prefer faster bandwidth)
Checked with the team, there’s no BIOS support for overclocking

More than there being no BIOS support, these processors do not support OC. RAM counts.
Only JEDEC is/will be supported.

Same, something like the ZSA Voyager
+2 for German. FW12 13th gen Intel owner and just put in my pre-order of the new version. Was easily my biggest grievance from the start that there was no backlit keyboard. Still feels like a slap in the face FW only caring about feedback from US users all of a sudden. Would swap both keyboards in a heartbeat if there was an option.
