I currently use a Framework Laptop 13 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1240P and I’m looking to upgrade to an AMD Ryzen AI 300 Mainboard.
I´d like to know how much performance gain there is from the i5-1240P to the AMD Ryzen AI 5 340. Especially for lite gaming. Or if I need to consider the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350. Because the price difference of around 300 Euro is quite significant.
Can any current owner share some Benchmark results or his overall experience.
I recently got the Ryzen AI 9 370, so i can’t provide the benchmarks you’re looking for (but i’d be happy to provide those if anyone’s interested, just tell me what you’re interested in seeing).
Here’s notebookcheck’s comparison , data is lacking a bit, but it gives you a decent rough indication of their relative performance (scroll all the way down for gaming benchmarks). You can click on most results to see which laptops they were tested on. I also included the gpu from your current cpu.
Take these at face value, with laptops the power settings defined by the manufacturer and the cooling solution can make a huge difference.
Benchmark data is lacking for the chips you’re looking at, but from what i can see, the gpu gives some modest gains, but on cpu-bound games the gains can be a bit more significant.
