mostly true, I would agree. The freight forwarding thing and my personal pet peeve, the firmware issues, were significant. The firmware stuff at the very least got some attention from Ars.
Frameworkās handling of this issue is very disappointing. Sorry, but Iām not staying in a ābig tentā if white nationalists are also in it.

My point was: The moderation leadership changes clearly show that Vaxry is committed to fighting any transphobia within his community. What more should we expect?

I would interpret it as ātrying to save face for hyprland but continuing with similar general behavior as clearly demonstrated on his own blogā.

Iām at a loss for why you think Iām not being clear about my misgivings and the verifiable, directly linked reasons for that opinion.
my summary so far seems to be
vaxry admitted that he was dumb in that Twitter post, he then hosted a comfort check poll, seeming to refactor moderation as a result of discomfort, and having pretty good trans protective statements in the rules (per March 31st 2025 edit). Additionally I canāt recall any major incidents since that oneā¦ Iām trying to investigate further to see if things are better now but, so far, as a PRELIMINARY look at things mind you, things seemā¦ Actually not bad now? The things Iām seeing indicate the leadership actually cares about trans people rather than hates them, especially since I see a lot of very outwardly trans people hang regularly in the community, notably, VERY active community members and contributors/donators.

Does not fulfill the criteria I mentioned: āpost that moderation changeā. The moderation change blogpost was on: October 9, 2024.
Which began long before, and continued as an issue for a long time after, and Vaxryās continued behavior and language is consistent with the issue being noted by the OP.
Again, Iām at a complete loss for where you are confused by this. Vaxry is still part of the hyprland project, he continues to behave in a similar fashion (albeit couching his language more, or using more references rather than explicitly using slurs, but still the same behavior).
My opinion, as a result, remains unchanged. What is confusing about this?
Edit: To be clear, your criteria to decide whether or not its still operated by someone expressing hateful views is not functionally relevant.

can you point me towards specific examples? so far Iām seeing good faith efforts to actually improve things, if anything contradicts me Iād like to know

I am talking about Vaxry. Whether or not he says it on Discord means nothing to me. I have pointed out continued behavior on his blog. Vaxry has not, in any way relevant, shown any meaningful change to me.
At this point I think Iām just repeating myself.
