FW13 AMD CPU Performance (Geekbench6)

Hi pals,

Just asking to discuss and satisfy my curiosity.

I tested my current gear with Geekbench 6 and caught two things:

  • Is the performance gain between the 7840 and HX370 really that marginal?
  • The Mac Mini looks like it’s in another league, and now I’m doubting whether to ditch it for an HX370 machine (I love my FW and will keep it anyway as my workhorse, but it looks like I’ll have to keep the Mac Mini for some CPU-intensive tasks too).

Is this all just Geekbench’s optimization, or do we not yet have an FW13 that can match the Mac’s performance? Or maybe I’m doing something wrong and killing my own performance (Fedora 42)?

Also note that geekbench doesn’t test efficiency

Nowhere near as impressive as that arch benchmark, but another data point to consider
