Which Framework Laptop 13 model are you using?

AMD Ryzen™ AI 300 Series

I have been running into problems with my laptop hard powering off in the middle of operation; almost as if there was a short and the hardware itself cut the power. There are no logs, no indication from the kernel that anything is awry. The cause of this used to be two-finger scrolling on the touchpad; reseating the cables seemed to fix it and I had broken the locking mechanism for the mobo → touchpad ribbon cable, so I purchased a new touchpad and replaced it. It did not fix the issue unfortunately.

Oddly enough, I upgraded some packages today and the symptoms have shifted. The touchpad no longer causes issues, but coming back from suspend immediately powers off the computer (the power button lights up for a flash and then back to darkness). Yet again though, no logs in kern.log or journalctl past the initial suspension.

Here is a list of the upgraded packages (that I think could influence things) when the symptoms changed:

  • Kernel (6.14.0-24.24~24.04.3 → 6.14.0-27.27~24.04.1)
  • linux-firmware:amd64 (20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.14 → 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.15)
  • libglx-mesa0:amd64 (24.2.8-1ubuntu1~24.04.1 → 25.0.7-0ubuntu0.24.04.1)

I have been really stumped by this, so would love to hear any ideas to track down what is going on
