HDMI 2.1 VRR for AMD Version possible?

Hello dear community,

a friend of mine is interested in buying the Framework 13.

Besides some office work he wants to use the laptop for gaming with the gamestream service GeForce Now.

As he wants to connect to a 4k 120Hz TV via HDMI we are now wondering how to archive a working connection that offers all features of HDMI 2.1 like VRR, dynamic HDR and of course 4k@120Hz.

In the specification it says the HDMI cards only offer HDMI 2.0b.

The Thunderbolt UBS-C to HDMI adaptors I found online do not mention VRR capability or claim not to work explicitly.

Would it be more clever to go for a DP output and convert it?

What are our options here?

Thank you very much! <3

No framework has a native hdmi output, all of them can have hdmi converted from dp.

4k 120hz can be done with dp1.4 and an active dp to hdmi converter that can use dsc. I use a no-name one I got of aliexpress for my lg oled. VRR on the other hand is going to get a lot more compicated but should theoretically be possible.
