How do I post on the community market and is it possible to post a part wanted request?

Hey guys, I am new to Framework and the community so apologies if this is not the right place to make this post.

I bought a Framework laptop 13 AMD 7640U and am very happy with it. However, I thought that this would come with the 2nd gen keyboard. I also ordered with the gray bezel however it looks more like white and therefore I would like to switch it to a black bezel.

I wanted to first make a post on the marketplace see if anyone has either of these and is willing to sell them before I go and buy them brand new, but it seems as of 9 days ago that posting in the community has been restricted and requires increased trust level but it is not specified how to increase your trust level.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Currently, the community market only allows listings for selling things. Want to buy posts are not allowed but we’re allowing trades for now. As for trust level, you can increase that by interacting with the community. This includes reading posts, posting comments, and liking comments.

Understood, I guess I will make a post whenever I am allowed asking if anyone wants a gray bezel in exchange of a black bezel.

I’m a bona-fide purchaser of a Framework 13. I haven’t had a need to use the community forum before, other than that I’d like to sell my Framework 13. It would certainly be a lot more useful to allow people to post ā€œFor Saleā€ items if they have actually purchased a Framework from the company in the past, rather than a vague ā€œyou have to read / post / interact on the forumā€ to use this benefit.

Hi Michael. You can find the reasoning behind the ā€˜Trust level’ here: Update on Community Market Access

I second this. I’m in a similar situation and it feels kinda weird to now have to post or reply to be able to use the community market. It would be cool, if there was another way to certify yourself as a framework customer.

Other options for selling laptops, parts or other items:

Ebay, quite a few frameworks are there at any given time now. As well as parts and currently even items like keyboard switch components and replacement SMD mainboard connectors.
A search for laptops, attempting to filter out parts:

The Reddit FrameworkMarket subreddit has good activty
reddit.com/r/FrameworkMarket

Not many on craigslist at the moment, but some
searchcraigslist.net/results?q=Framework%20Laptop

Perhaps somone knows of more good options?

Use a safe payment method if buying or selling outside of places like ebay. PayPal ā€œGoods and servicesā€ option, (not ā€œSending to a friend") is what I’ve used. With the PayPal funds coming from a credit card, if you have one that adds an additional level of protection.

There may be other safe options, I don’t happen to know of any. startpage.com/do/dsearch?q=safe+payment+methods+for+online+personal+sales.

Zelle is not safe. Venmo and Apple Pay are not safe either, last I heard. Unless they’ve changed, their user agreements say they are not for commercial use or personal sales. They will not help you if someone mails you a box of rocks.

I have a RX 7700S GPU module I would like to sell so I was wondering why I could not make a post since I made a 5070 GPU module pre-order.

Your trust level is not sufficiently highly to make a post in the community market.

You can see how to get to level 2 here.

Is there a way to view our current trust level?

Yes, just open your profile and you can track your level there.

It would be great to be a verifiable customer. Any others?

Hello

I am brand new !

Signed up today March 2026…

Kind of glad I am not the only one confused…

You seem to have thought of a good workaround for finding a replacement part thats within permitted rules

Since the whole selling point of these computers revilves around being built in a modular mannee to allow for upgrades and maintenance with the obvious bonuses of reduced costs compared to being forced to buy a complete new computer and the associated E waste involved which is wasteful and toxic…

It seems to my limited intelligence that swapping or buying unwanted or surplus components from other owners might be intrinsic to the sustainability goals of this system?

Wouldnt it be nice if

More

Manufactured items in future were designed to enable interchangeability of parts ?

Upgrade or replace a single part in all electronic or mechanical items……

Instead of built in obsolescence?

Oops

Seems my soap box ended up bigger than expected.

Kind regards to all

Kevin

Welcome to the community. Let us know if you have questions.

Hi I would like to post a topic in the community market and I can see that I have the needed stats to be TL2 , but it still says basic. Are you able to help? @Eagle

Perhaps this could be your issue

Visiting at least 15 days, not sequentially

Looks like at least 10 days of your time was consecutive.

Hehe. Even I would not get that. I have probably been on here every day for over a year!!!

Hey, happy cake day!

Yeah, it’s a barrier of entry in two ways. Either you might be trying to get your numbers up too fast, or you just need to get off the forum for a bit! Touch grass.

I am not one to talk, :upside_down_face: don’t look at my stats please. :face_in_clouds: Coincidently, I just today re-gained trust lvl 3, Regular. That a cue to locate the nearest grass, asap.
