hi, I got the i7 1165g7 mainboard and did what Adam_Kosherick did and soldered the sw1.
that worked will until the wire got rid of by accident and now i can only turn on my mainboard with Tweezers. so is there any way i can turn on my mainboard that is not that annoying? like with a keyboard with some linux script?
You could set the bios to have it to turn on when power is supplied, then use an inline switch on the usb-c cable supplying power.
If you did not save the SW1 from when you desoldered it, why not just resolder two wires going to a little switch like what @Adam_Kosherick did? You could even use the same little wires like he did with the two pin connector and power it on with a paperclip shorting the two pins briefly.
Otherwise @lbkNhubert suggestion is a way to initiate power on with power coming from USBC. Sometimes this does not work reliably as others have had issues with it not always working in the past.
thx for the help guys. but it’s not turning on anymore
