Cant wait, def will need something like this. I hope you’ll make more then one to sell. Please hit me up when you get a working board. Thank you.

Or you can just off-board the USB hub, let the user do the thing. I think this is better, the various Type-C is odd to get at anyway.

Would be interesting to like break out a connector for a few keys on the keyboard. Ah well.

Both that and 5VALW have protection diodes, so you will have voltage drop when you try to draw decent current. It’s not designed for that.
What you can do is maybe power one thing with one of the rails, and the other thing with the another.

For my project, I need to put all in a small and unique piece of PCB.
If you want something like a breakout board, I suggest using @Dylan_Evans’s design with a bigger FPC or like this topic.

In my current design, I use 5VALW for:

  • USB2.0 hub (SL2.1A)
  • Power led
  • Fingerprint connector

And I use 5VS for all USB C connector.
Since that is my first PCB, I have surely done many errors …

I just “solved” the USB hub part, so all USB-C ports are working fine.
Only the fingerprint is not working now.
FYI: Please verify in BIOS if the fingerprint USB is not disabled.

Great send me the store/buy link , :slightly_smiling_face:

For the moment, I don’t know how to sell outside Europe without raising the shipping cost too much.

So for Europeans: on eBay
For French : on LeBonCoin

Can you at least sell to global and let eBay decide the shipping cost even if it’s alot thank you.

Yes, but eBay doesn’t distinguish between Europe and Worldwide for the shipping cost, so I set the Worldwide cost. Don’t hesitate to contact me to adjust that.

I just tested something else; it nearly fit the Cooler Master case (a little too high for a 1mm PCB).

My order of the version from @Josh_Cook seems to have fallen through.

I will say though, I’m excited about your version @A.Zerty! Do you plan to release gerbers or anything else?

Not for the moment, maybe next year when I have fixed all issues and reduced my prototyping costs. During that time, I’ll sell prototypes on Leboncoin and eBay (maybe another platform if I find a good one).

Please set LED power to high in the BIOS if USB is not working. Thanks @Ivars_Pepsons for reminding me of that point.

New EBay link.
Due to eBay charging more fees than I thought, I have increased the price. If somebody knows a good platform to sell with little or no fee at all, feel free to tell me. You can also PM me.

Tindie? I don’t know how the fees compare to eBay but I know others are selling boards made to work with Framework laptops there https://www.tindie.com/search/?q=framework but that might just be because tindie is the place to go to find such things.

Usually national couriers (so La Poste in your case I believe) have the best international postal rates for small parcels.

People can also use post forwarding services and order from LeBonCoin

If anyone in the UK is looking for one of the shims posted in the first post here then I have two not being used, not sure where to sell them otherwise!

is the offer still available for US shipping ?

I still have them, I’ll drop you a DM now..

How hard would it be to create the connector as a ribbon cable that exposes the board on the terminating end of the ribbon? I have a M.2 E Key device that’s covering the input module port and I’d like to get access to the power button without having to move things around because it breaks my design.

Have a question about the input shim. I’ve got it connected to an AMD 7040 series board. I’ve got the +5ALW pads bridged. My understanding is that with no charger plugged in and the system off, i should not see 5v. But with the system off, and a charger plugged in, i should see 5v? Am I wrong there? Cause it doesn’t seem to be working that way for me.
