Internal mic non-functional on Framework 13 AMD (Krackan Point) — SOF/ACP timeline?

Hi all,

The internal DMIC on my Framework 13 AMD (Ryzen AI 7 350, Krackan Point) is non-functional under Linux. Headphone jack and speakers via the ALC285 HDA path work fine; USB and 3.5mm headset mics work fine. It’s specifically the internal PDM DMIC array routed through ACP that has no working driver/firmware path.

The ACP shows up as 1022:15e2 rev 0x47. With snd_acp_pci loaded, a capture device appears but produces silence and exposes no mixer controls. With it blacklisted, the SOF AMD modules load but no driver’s PCI ID table matches this revision, and no AMD SOF firmware for Krackan Point exists in sof-firmware or linux-firmware yet.

I filed an upstream issue with full details here: Issue · GitHub

A few questions for Framework (or anyone tracking this):

  1. Is Framework working with AMD / the SOF maintainers on Krackan Point ACP support? Any timeline?
  2. Which kernel + firmware release is expected to carry the fix? I’m watching sound/soc/amd/ patches in 6.14+ and the sof-firmware package, but a pointer would save me churn.
  3. Is there a known workaround beyond external mics that other Framework 13 AMD owners have found?

Happy to test patches or pre-release firmware if useful.

Thanks.
Sean
