Mine was different in that the issue only ever happened to me during the BIOS flash process. It worked fine both before and after the flash, and the screen never went black. It was just frozen on the flash progress screen.

You might already know but just in case: 3.18 has a known bug that causes this exact problem which was fixed in 3.19 - which never left beta because of another minor issue with audio volume, which has just been addressed in the 3.20 beta
