Accidentally flashed FW 16 amd 7040 BIOS (ver. 4.03) onto my FW 13 with amd 7640. When it powers on, it shows the FW 16 ‘expansion bay cable improperly connected’ screen, then with another press of the power button, it boots into the Windows lock screen. I can’t get it to recognize any input through the keyboard or through an external keyboard, can’t get it to charge (I don’t think it recognizes the USB ports), and I can’t get the chassis intrusion switch mainboard reset procedure to work. Are there any avenues for a BIOS reflash I’m missing or am I pretty much cooked?
Other people have reported similar problems. FW support have generally replaced the mainboard. So best to contact FW support via their web form.
Got it, thanks. After posting I saw someone with the same problem who had to get the mainboard replaced so it seems like the best path. Currently waiting on a response from support (been almost a week 
).
