Which Framework Laptop 13 model are you using? I have a Framework Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen 7040 series, built July 2025).
I was updating the BIOS from JFP30.03.18 to JFP30.03.20 using fwupdmgr on Ubuntu 26.04. After restarting, it entered the update screen but became stuck. I have performed multiple mainboard battery disconnects (4+ times, up to 15–30 minutes each) and power resets. Current symptoms:
- Fan runs intermittently
- Side LED cycles between blinking red, steady green, and blinking red/green
- No video output on internal display or external HDMI monitor
- Power button and charger respond (LED changes)
The laptop is otherwise responsive to resets but will not boot to a visible screen or allow reliable USB boot.I have tried the EFI USB updater (correctly structured) with blind F12 spamming, but no success.
