Not for me for a coworker running Linux sorry for lack of knowledge on topic in advance
After trying to update my laptops OS Ubuntu when I press the power button the power button flashes rapidly but never shows even the framework screen. So far i’ve tried to boot with ram in only one of both slots (I tried both slots both sticks of ram) do a full motherboard reset by unplugging the battery then pressing the SW3 switch slowly 10 times over. I saw the side indicator lights turn red and blue then stayed on red once it was done. No change, won’t boot into bios or windows. I’ve also reseeded every component and the mainboard itself.

Ram: 2x 16gbs sticks of Crucial GDDR5 4800 MHz
Battery: 61Wh
Mainboard: (Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 1) - Ultra 7 155H

Using the framework charger that came with the laptop 100w I believe not sure

Is the screen just blank the entire time or does it turn on and show the Framework logo? Also check to make sure that it is not a display issue. You can do this by unplugging the internal display and connecting it to another monitor.

If those solutions don’t work, try checking if it is an SSD issue by plugging the SSD into another laptop.

I would also recommend contacting Framework Support on the issue.

Hi, my FW13 booted once, and now won’t boot anymore.

Specs: FW13, Win11, AMD Ryzen latest version (Oct 2024), 64RAM, highest res screen (curved corners), BIOS version unknown.

Yesterday, the machine booted to Windows, allowed log-in, connection to WiFi and for installation of software. At end of session, machine was screen locked and lid closed (not force powered down via power button, nor shutdown via Win11 power menu).

Today, the machine flashed up ‘Framework’ logo, then an error message about running diagnostics and attempting auto repair, before screen going dark/machine automatically powering off. Attempting to reboot took through to blue screen for error message about not booting windows correctly, before abruptly shutting down without input from me.

Since then, I’ve tried without success:
1, 30+ sec long-press of power button as powerflush (no response apparent)
2a, Unplug and replug power supply (orange power indicator LED was on, tried on both sides via USB-C in rear sockets), short-press power button → several brief flashes at power button, then in an off/powered down state without anything on screen at any point.
2b, as above for 2a, while tapping fn+F2 → no difference
2c, as above for 2a/2b, holding fn+ESC → no difference
2d, doing 2b then 2c; then 2c then 2b → no difference
3, Still plugged in to powersupply, pressing power button → no response in any way.
4, Unplugging, waiting 60sec, then re-plugging powersupply and short-press power button, results in 2a/2b (a few flashes of power button then off, without anything on screen).

Any and all advice welcome, else will contact FW support, else return to my Uni’s IT team, and failing that, a warranty claim.
