Hello!
My Framework 16 is overheating, and it’s a 2-year-old laptop. I use a lot of software that requires a lot of RAM. My RAM is 32 GB, and it’s been factory reset already this past year.
It feels like it needs new thermal paste on the CPU, but when I look up information about Framework, it seems like they use Liquid Metal. Is this correct?
Also, I was working the other night, and it was sitting at 22 GB of ram use age and was lagging pretty hard. Are there other ways to optimize my CPU?
Thanks!

you just need to change liquid metal to something else. Framework published guide how to do it Liquid Metal -> PTM 7958 - Framework Guides
there was whole thread related to issue with pumping out liquid metal which was causing throthling.
temporary solution will be to open laptop and remove dust and anything else what is blocking airflow. I had similar issue and cleaning help a little bit How do I clean out the FW16 cooling system? - #2 by wojciech_migas

Yup. @wojciech_migas nailed it. Just follow that guide, support should send you a free PTM replacement kit if you send them an email/submit a ticket. There used to be a form for it, but that’s since been taken down.
