[Linux] Audio popping when coming out of ALSA suspend

I have my speakers connected to the 3.5mm jack on my machine. I noticed a popping sound would happen after leaving sound off for a little bit. After some investigation, I found it was happening when the ALSA sink was in the SUSPENDED state (easy check by running pactl list short). I’ve been able to work around this issue by adding a wireplumber config with the “Matches all sinks” part of the example config from the fix found in the “Noticeable audio delay or audible pop/crack when starting playback” section of the PipeWire page on the ArchWiki.

This isn’t something I’ve needed to do on other machines. So my questions are:

  • Has anyone else encountered this problem?
  • Is there a chance there’s a problem with how the Framework Desktop handles ALSA suspend?

Thanks in advance!
