I thought someone dove a little deeper into the screen and saw that part of the issue had to do with the LED drivers themselves can only go so low. I though it was PWM related or something, I am stretching my memory to remember more on this topic.
Though not a great option, putting a (Privacy?) filter on the screen will cut down on the brightness some. Not an elegant solution though this use case is pretty specific to just low light environments right?
It’s a good suggestion, but I prefer the Night Owls app i think. There are a lot of small imperfections, both this for me is a major issue.
About the LED drivers and the PWM, maybe one day I will investigate myself. I have no knowledge about electronics. Maybe I will use this to learn a bit about it and try solve it.
How hard it could be to send less power to a monitor?
I guess I will keep the laptop, but in general, it feels more a prototype than an end product. I cannot buy this for the rest of my workers.
Not very, the problem is doing so without deepfrying the colors, which is why there is a min limit and manufacturers aren’t too happy to let you go outside of that.
Did the manufacturers not consider that we might like our colors deep-fried, with 11 secret spices? Shame on them for trying to dictate how we may eat our colors, which we paid for.
