So I just noted that the letter I on my Swedish/Finnish keyboard looks like a typical Serif-I with tails and not lika a regular Sans-I (without tails). All other letters on the keyboard are regular Sans without tails.
Now I can’t unsee it. Was this made on purpose by the framework team? If so, what’s the reason?
Thanks, yes - I’ve been following that post too and maybe it makes sense to post an update there too. As you can see on the example images for the Swedish layout (and others) the I is in Sans, but it ended up with a Serif-I. I’m curious if this is intentional or not.
Well, it’s not just my keyboard, others too. Just look at the attached image. I can see you don’t have anything else to offer to this conversation, but I thank you for the link to the other topic.
Sorry, I though that attaching an image to a post would suggest ppl to have a look at it. My bad.
If you have a look at the attached image of the swedish keyboard, an image taken from the framework marketplace, you’ll notice that the letter I has Serif-tails but all other letters are regular Sans. I might be missing something here about why it’s done like this, but that’s what I’m interested of understanding. My Lenovo X1 does not have a Serif-I for example.
I thought about that too, but in my mind that wouldn’t make sense at all; ie to have either a number or a lowercase letter when all other keys in this area are letters and uppercase?
It doesn’t really justify it in my mind either, it’s obvious, even to people like me that are used to different keyboard layouts, that it’s an upper case letter because that’s what is on either side of it.
As for @Brian_Gregory comment, sure that could be possible, but the Cherry keyboard I’m using right now has the ‘proper’ sans style. In fact I’ve never really paid much attention to such detail but I agree that it seems odd and I still think it was a production mistake, though I have now found that to be as advertised ?/
The title could be more specific to get better attention to the issue as it is only one key.
Yes but this is on the keyboard.
@vnswe I would think if you are wondering why Framework did this you would contact them via support rather than have a public forum speculate on such ??
