Ppd vs tuned for FW

I just learned that Fedora 41 switched to tuned for power management. As FW explicitly recommends ppd over tlp, has there been any testing with tuned yet if it yields any improvements over ppd or does it also lack some AMD optimizations like tlp?

not sure how much testing has been done, but discussion about tuned vs PPD has happened in this thread: [TRACKING] PPD v TLP for AMD Ryzen 7040 - #269 by gaben

Thanks. From the subject I didn’t think tuned was also included into the discussion.

PPD has direct support from AMD in terms of optimizing drivers and performance on the Framework, at least that’s been my take away from when they post here on the forums about updates and changes. I did some testing to compare auto-cpufreq, powertop, and ppd and found that ppd provided a better user experience at lower power draws (~1W better under low load).

Good to know, thanks
