I have my framework desktop mainboard in a ITX case with a suitable power supply working just fine in it’s temporary use case as a steam machine running bazzite (considering the desktop mode ‘desktop’ likes to crash and go away every so often I am less then thrilled with bazzite - but that is a unrelated topic).
That said this board in the future will be part of a ‘multi-server in one case’ project living a totally different life then it is now, but I need other parts I haven’t yet got for that.
When I do that a atx power supply can be made to work sure, but the other boards I plan to use will be powered by USB-C and it would be most convenient to standardize around that…
So my question is: Can the framework desktop motherboard (128gb ram version, if it matters) forgo the atx power supply, and be powered by a USB-C power source, either as is or with some sort of uefi/EC update?
Truly I suspect not; but I also see no harm in asking
