I just opened up a brand new Framework 13 yesterday and am loving it so far. However, the microphone out of the box did not seem to be working. My colleague described the audio coming from my end as “it sounds like you’re in a whirlwind!”
This issue was posted about a few months back, but I wanted to make another thread since that one’s closed.
Original thread: Fedora 41/13th Gen Intel Core microphone not working
The solution for me was simply to go into Settings > Sound > and under Input Device, select “Internal Stereo Microphone.” No sound seems to come in under “Digital Microphone”
Then, I had to lower my Input Volume to around 35-40%. Testing with GNOME’s Sound Recorder app, everything sounds good now.
Ryzen AMD AI 300 series if that’s relevant
